Alianza Youth Leadership Program is a youth-led movement of collective voices connecting leaders to unlock their leadership potential and bring change to their communities. Through community organizing and training, Alianza aims to build the leadership of Latinx youth by providing them with a platform and resources to do so.
What We Do
Youth Centered: Youth lead on everything. Youth make decisions and lead the future of Alianza's programing.
Co-Leadership/Co-Creation: Sharing leadership through different experiences. Supporting and acknowledging that we all come from different backgrounds to achieve a common goal and vision.
Youth Taking Action: Youth are autonomous and resilient to lead, guide and direct adults on what issues matter the most to them and their communities.
Leadership Activation: Inspiring youth to co-create and co-lead amongst their peers. And become self-autonomous in the process.
Civic Engagement as Strategy: Sharing and expanding knowledge that civic engagement is much more than just regular American Civics. Youth learn to create limitless engagement that connects to self-advocacy, community and society.
Self-Care: Youth reconnecting with their mind and body to encourage and normalize resting. Teaching youth that self-care is essential for leadership activation.
Broad Issue-Based: Youth issues are not just one. Youth make the majority of a colonized system that excludes youth in decision making. Alianza focuses on broad issues to dismantle the colonized system and co-create a new beginning without systems that are inaccessible to all youth.
